The Dimensions of Leadership
There are many layers and dimensions to the topic
of leadership. I developed the framework below as a way of
thinking about them and talking about them with clients.
Sales leaders have to understand both themselves
and the general
concepts of leadership. They then must apply those insights to the day to day
routine of helping their teams plan and execute sales cycles.
They have to find a leadership style which is genuine and well
integrated with their personal make up, is effective with the people
they lead, and compatible with their corporate environment.
That's a lot of moving parts!
I focus my discussions in this area around
helping sales leaders understand these dimensions in their personal
situations. The goal is to build personal action plans which help
them increase their confidence and effectiveness as true leaders and
beyond being just traditional sales managers.
